Webcast: Shaping a Budget that Confronts Global Poverty

Watch the recording of the latest Catholics Confront Global Poverty webcast – Hope Springs Eternal: Shaping a Budget that Confronts Global Poverty.

Congress recently passed and the President signed into law the budget that funds U.S. government activities through September 30, 2011. The FY 2011 budget cut poverty-focused international assistance by more than 8 percent. We are bracing for more drastic cuts in the next budget cycle now that Congress has begun working on the FY 2012 budget that will fund U.S. government activities from October 1, 2011 until September 30, 2012. Watch the recording of the webcast, originally aired on April 27, 2011 to learn more about what this agreement means for our brothers and sisters who are poor and vulnerable overseas.
