Video: Peril and Paradise for Pregnant Women
Lane Hartill’s video on the perils of pregnancy in Guinea-Bissau is CRS’ most-viewed on our Youtube channel. It’s both a chilling and poignant look at the hardships pregnant women face in many parts of the world.

Thank you for this wonderful, moving, and informative video. It seems to me that the most important things these women need are prenatal care by well-trained midwives, clean conditions in which to birth, proper nutrition during pregnancy, education on pregnancy, newborn care, and breastfeeding, and medical backup for complications/emergencies. The message and work should not focus on women needing expensive medical interventions and doctors; most low-risk women do not need these things. Women around the world (including the U.S.) deliver babies perfectly safely at home without doctors or epidurals.
Thank you for your work. I am a great supporter.
