U.S. Bishops Visit CRS Zimbabwe

CRS Zimbabwe was honored to receive distinguished guests from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, accompanied by CRS’ new regional director for southern Africa, Mary Hodem. Bishop John Ricard of Pensacola-Tallahassee, Florida, said he was glad to visit the country once again. This time, he was accompanied by Bishop John Wester of Salt Lake City, who is also a CRS board member. A team from the USCCB’s Migration for Refugee Services was also part of the delegation.

Bishop Ricard congratulated the CRS Zimbabwe team for the recent special recognition from headquarters they received for their dedicated efforts. He then encouraged everyone to keep up the good work, despite the difficult working environment. “Right before dawn is the coldest part of the night. Now Zimbabwe is at that time, just before dawn, and things look promising,” Bishop Ricard said, as he pledged CRS’ and the USCCB’s continuous support.
