Fight Hunger With Agriculture Investment

CRS president Ken Hackett writes in a guest column in the Des Moines Register: “Despite the fact that the majority of poor people in the developing world live in rural areas and sustain themselves through farming, overall funding for agriculture has been declining for many years.”

“A modest investment in agriculture can pay major dividends, boosting the incomes of farm families and helping to lift them out of poverty,” he said in the column.
