Burundi: Creating Fertile Ground

Burundi program

The small land-locked nation of Burundi has seen many years of downward agricultural yields due to gross soil erosion, irregular rainfall and recurring crop failures. Our cash-for-work opportunities address the immediate financial needs of residents by providing cash to purchase food and other essential items. Residents are paid to work on soil erosion control projects that in turn improve the land for future plantings.
