I confess I’m excited. Although I am usually not “in” to the specialty coffee scene–playfully rolling my eyes when coffee gurus like Katy Cantrell or Michael Sheridan wax philosophic about the fine distinctions among coffee regions, dry vs. wet mill processing, and the like–I am at the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) meetings in Houston, TX this year and I’m not complaining. The reason: the people behind the beans!
