Iraq War Vet Sees Another Side of the Middle East

Jeff Hsu is an Iraqi war veteran who is now a graduate MBA student at Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business.  He traveled to Beirut, Lebanon, recently as part of a program at Notre Dame called “Business on the Front Lines,” in which graduate business students visit war-torn countries and create business plans focused on economic recovery.

As part of Notre Dame’s partnership with CRS, the students have a chance to see CRS programming in the countries they visit. While in Beirut, Jeff spent the day with CRS staff member Samer Akel , who showed him some legendary Arab hospitality—as well as another side the to the Middle East. Jeff wrote about his experience in the latest edition of Notre Dame’s online business magazine.
