India Flooding Leaves Millions Homeless

Flooding in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka states of India has destroyed millions of houses and left many more millions homeless according to CRS staff and this BBC report.

CRS staff is in the process of determining the full effect of the flooding, the extent of property damage and the scale of human need.

The BBC reports that the flooding was brought on by rains associated with a cyclone in the Bay of Bengal and made worse by the opeing of two dams that were near bursting.

The report puts loss of life at more than 250.
