Catholic Youth Groups Confront Global Poverty

Optimistic.

Energetic .

Enthusiastic…

Our future leaders.

These are some phrases commonly used to describe youth in our society. Catholic Relief Services and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops have been privileged to witness the enthusiasm and inspiration of Catholic youth who believe that their faith calls them to make the world a better place for all of God’s people.

This school year as part of their participation in Food Fast, CRS’ youth program, young people will take on a leadership role in their parishes by developing plans to involve their communities in Catholics Confront Global Poverty. They will help us reach our goal of 1 million Catholics engaged in this important work.

Ending hunger, disease, conflict, and other issues that affect the lives of our brothers and sisters worldwide is an ambitious goal. If anyone can hope to make headway toward it, our youth can.

Free materials in English and Spanish are available to help youth groups start planning their Food Fasts, and start working to change our world.
